Go’s coring gear arrived last night via NAC, so we were good to go from Barrow today. Weather was perfect. We left Barrow at around 1pm and made it out to the cabin before 5pm. Maybe 5F or so, only a little wind from NW, very clear, and most importantly recent blow had filled in much of sasturgi making for smooth fast riding. Plenty of opportunity to take pictures of lots and lots of caribou herds along the way.
Rest of crew was at cabin when we arrived. They’d already taken a ~6.2-m core up at Drew Point. But had to do some repairs on auger heads.
Ben also tweaked his back, which kind of sucks. But think his luck is changing for the better if he can use Tesh Lake ice for his pain and prescribed therapy.
