- A Day to Chill
1/24/2018
We got going around 10am this morning into the earliest twilight. Cold but not much wind. Perfect conditions.
Riding down the Peninsula we stopped briefly at a few cabins before crossing Dease Inlet.
Lots of caribou about in herds of 4-20 or so. A few interesting cracks crossing the sea ice, but otherwise no worries. Seeing where caribou were grazing breaks up the stastrugi snow drift patterns.
Arriving at North Side of Teshekpuk Lake seemed just right as light got low and flat making it hard to see. Plus goggles had been fogging up and riding without made it extra challenging to see well.
Thawing out cabins is a labor of love and one that has to be taken slow. Almost getting it thawed.
